The UK's premier set of skills competitions
WorldSkills UK is the name for the UK’s premier set of skills competitions for young people and adults.
The competitions aim to encourage people across the UK to excel in their work-based skill. They also aim to help lift standards of training and performance.
About WorldSkills UK
The competitions run regionally and nationally in the UK each year. They are held across five main sectors: built environment, cultural and creative arts, engineering, IT and business administration, and professional and hospitality services.
A range of skills
Within these sectors, competitions are run every year in around 70 skills that range from bricklaying to beauty therapy and from welding to web design.
Outstanding national finalists may have the chance to join the shortlist for the team that represents the UK at a WorldSkills international competition.
How is City of Bristol College involved?
At City of Bristol College, we know how important it is to encourage our students to excel. That’s why we are inviting our students to really challenge and stretch themselves by taking part in the WorldSkills UK competitions.
Opportunities for students to show off their skills
The competitions give students who are at the top of their game the chance to push themselves beyond their normal boundaries. The competitions engage and inspire students and enhance the learning experience in their chosen skills. They are an exciting opportunity for students to show off their skills and can help to boost confidence, too.
