We work closely with a broad mix of local schools and companies across the country. Many schools without Sixth Forms and many companies with skill gaps turn to City of Bristol College.
The Bristol Campus and Kingswood Consortium
As a key player in the Bristol Campus and Kingswood Consortium we offer
excellent progression routes from entry level through to university level courses.
Schools engagement
Put simply, this helps to bridge the gap between school and College. There are over 70 feeder schools enrolling on over 170 full-time courses, so the College Student Ambassadors are invaluable, giving those still at school a real insight about what college life is really like.
A typical week for our team may involve the following activities:
- Training a group of new student ambassadors to help out with schools' liaison work
- Taking a group of ambassadors to a school to talk to a Year 11 group. The ambassadors were able to answer questions and put their minds at rest
- Attending a school career's event to speak with prospective parents and pupils
- Meeting College staff to discuss taster sessions (when school groups visit the College for a day to try out different courses)
- Visiting a school assembly to talk to young people so they know about their post-16 options and about life at City of Bristol College.
