This is an introductory course for keen gardeners who would like to learn about the basic principles and practices of garden design.
The course will help students develop the skills and knowledge to design areas of their own garden or/and investigate the possibility of developing a career in garden design
The course will be classroom based, but will include some practical sessions
There will be no formal assessment of students work.
The course will cover the following areas of study; • Design principles • Drafting skills • Elements of hard landscaping • Introduction to the use of trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials
There are nor formal entry requirements, just an interest and enthusiasm for gardening. Students must be able to undertake independent study outside the course timetable. Students are advised to discuss the course content with the course tutor before enrolling.
