We hold the distinguished international reputation as one of the world’s leading study centres for Aeronautical Engineering. Since the 1960s, we have held ongoing UK Civil Aviation Authority approval to deliver training to the airline maintenance industry.

This longstanding badge of excellence means that we conduct training for some of the biggest companies within the industry, including Airbus, GKN Aerospace, Rolls Royce, Serco and the UK Ministry of Defence.

We also provide bespoke courses for airlines and foreign government bodies based all around the world.

State-of-the-art facilities

Our brand new Advanced Engineering Centre (AEC) at Parkway opened in 2013. It houses the very latest in industry equipment and facilities, including:

  • Large hangar for two aircraft
  • Training helicopter
  • Light aircraft
  • Avionics laboratory
  • Electrical laboratory
  • Technical library
  • Engine workshop
  • Composite material workshop
  • Computer aided simulation rigs
  • Wind tunnel

Learning from the best

Our experienced lecturing team have all had long and successful careers in the aircraft industry, in both manufacturing and maintenance.

Courses are available from Level 2 (GCSE equivalent) through to Level 6 (Honours Degree). Most are full-time, although we do also offer short part-time courses to enable people within the aviation industry to gain further qualifications.

Depending on your age and level of qualification, funding is available for most programmes. Our staff are on hand to advise you on routes into the industry or further study.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
