What will I do on this course?
You will develop your personal and employability skills, complete assignments & develop your practical skills in our Animal centre.
You will complete these Vocational Units
Caring for and feeding animals
Moving and accommodating animals
Finding out about the land based sector
Developing a Personal Progression Plan
You will develop your Employability Skills & complete a BTEC Personal & Social development qualification.
You will undertake Volunteering or Work experience.
You will take an English & Maths Functional Skills qualification at the right level for you.
If you achieve a grade 3 for GCSE English or Maths at school you will undertake a resit in these subjects.
Who is it for?
If you’re a school leaver and interested in Animal Care, this course is an ideal stepping stone towards achieving your ambition.
How Is this course assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year.
You will complete an English & Maths assessment/Exam.
What could I do next?
You could progress onto a L2 course, an Apprenticeship or Employment.
The course is free to anyone between the age of 16-18.
You will need to buy a uniform & contribute towards educational trips
