About the course

Would you like to work in an administrative environment? Learn administration and ICT skills that will help you achieve this? This course is for you!

The teaching team come from an administrative background so have plenty of help and advice to give you.  During the course you will take part in practical administrative activities and there is the opportunity to undertake an administration work placement in an administrative environment for 1 day per week for 10 weeks in the second term.

Entry Requirements

You will need:

  • Initial assessment of English and Maths skills  
  • GCSE grade C in English plus four other GCSEs at grade D or above
  • Regular attendance and good punctuality  
  • Reference from previous course

You must attend the GCSE English and Maths sessions if you do not already hold a grade C, as part of the programme structure.

What will I do on this course?

You will study a variety of topics to prepare you for the workplace:

  • Communicating with customers
  • Managing diaries
  • Written business communication
  • Organising meetings
  • IT subjects such as Word Processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and databases
  • Organising business travel and accommodation
  • Working in administration

You will have the opportunity, as part of the programme, to spend 30hrs on a relevant work placement.
