About the course

The AAT qualification is universally respected and internationally recognised for providing students with extensive practical accountancy training. The Level 3 Diploma extends the book-keeping knowledge previously gained, to the preparation of final accounts for sole traders & partnerships and broadens the understanding of management reporting.

Entry Requirements

You MUST have already achieved the AAT Accounting  Level 2 Accounting Certificate or completed an accounting entry test. You must have a minimum of Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy (tested prior to the start of the course). Anyone wishing to gain direct entry to Level 3 through a qualification other than AAT Accounting Level 2 Certificate, or studied with an alternative training provider, will be required to attend an interview with a tutor prior to the start of the course.

What will I do on this course?

The Level 3 Diploma will introduce you to increasingly complex finance office procedures and the professional ethics of working in an accounting environment. This will include the preparation of final accounts and VAT returns, management reporting and spread sheets.During the course you will be required to complete six core modules:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts preparation
  • Management Accounting: Costing
  • Indirect Tax
  • Ethics for Accountants
  • Spreadsheets for accounting
Who is it for?

This course is for students who have already achieved the AAT Accounting L2 Certificate or those who may have relevant workplace experience.

 AAT computer based unit assessments plus a synoptic assessment.

What could I do next?

Upon successful completion of the AAT Accounting Level 3 Diploma, you may have the opportunity to progress to:

  • Level 4 Accounting Diploma
  • Higher Education (AAT Accounting Level 3 Diploma will give 160 UCAS points).
Additional cost

Learners will need to pay an annual AAT Membership fee of £92. Students registering for the first time will also need to pay an one-off administration fee of  £41.
