About the course

The AAT qualification gives you practical, internationally recognised finance and accountancy skills. The Level 2  will cover processing bookkeeping transactions, control accounts, providing basic costing & revenue information and working with computerised accounts.  

Entry Requirements

You must have:

  • 5 GCSEs grade C  or above (including English and Maths),

Who is it for?

Accounting Level 2  is suitable for a wide range of students who are looking to expand both their accounting and business skills. This qualification is particularly suitable for 16 to 18 year old students studying full-time.This qualification has been developed to meet the requirements under the recent government education initiatives for all students aged 16 to 19.

How Is this course assessed?

You will be assessed via a combination of AAT computer based unit assessments plus a synoptic assessment.

What could I do next?

Upon successful completion of the Accounting  Level 2 Diploma, you may have the opportunity to progress to:

  • Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting
  • An Accounting apprenticeship 
  • Employment as an  accounts assistant; audit trainee; bookkeeper; credit controller; finance assistant or payroll assistant

AAT membership fees are funded for students aged 16-19.
