About the course

The aim of the course is to give you the required knowledge, skills and understanding at management level to take a strategic approach to marketing planning. By understanding key marketing metrics and measurement techniques you will be able to interpret relevant insight and make informed strategic decisions.

The Awarding Body at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has commended City of Bristol College for the excellent standard of results achieved for assessments submitted in the July 2016 assessments session for the Digital Strategy module of the Diploma in Professional Marketing.

This is a part-time programme. By completing all 3 modules listed below - you will attend for 36 weeks.

Entry Requirements

One or more of the following:

  • CIM Level 4 Professional Certificate in Marketing qualification
  • Any relevant Level 4 qualification
  • Foundation Degree in Business with Marketing
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree from a recognised university, with at least one third of credits coming from marketing content
  • Professional practice (two years in marketing operational role) plus CIM diagnostic assessment at Level 6
What will I do on this course?

The qualification comprises of three modules. However you can choose to complete just one module to gain an award. You can then continue to study and add to your module awards. When you have completed two mandatory modules and one elective module, you will achieve the full qualification. The college offers the two mandatory modules Strategic Marketing and Mastering Metrics and the elective module Digital Strategy.

  • FGE0588B01-1 Strategic Marketing: this comprises three units and is assessed by examination. Unit 1: Situation Analysis; Unit 2: Planning; Unit 3: Implementation and control
  • FGE0589B01-1 Mastering Metrics: this comprises three units and is assessed by work-based assignment. Unit 1: Metrics and analytics, Unit 2: Measuring effectiveness, Unit 3: Analytics for decision making
  • FGE0590B01-1 Digital Strategy: this comprises three units and is assessed through a three-part portfolio comprising research, plan and report. Unit 1: Digital disruption; Unit 2: Digital planning; Unit 3: Delivering success
