About the course

This course provides support with job search, CVs, job applications and interviews; advice on careers, training and personal development as well as an insight into current job markets.

  • Working on a structured 4 week programme, the focus is on work skills, customer service and targeted towards specific work sectors.


The college will provide training from professional tutors, support and advice from others in similar situations as well as access to internet and local job vacancies.

Entry Requirements

This course is for adults aged 19 + who are seeking employment. There will be an English assessment at the start to make sure that you will be able to complete the course.

Who is it for?

Free to people on Job Seeker’s Allowance, Employment & Support Allowance and Universal Credit. Also free to people in receipt of another state benefit, on a low income and seeking work.

How Is this course assessed?

You will complete a portfolio with the work and job-searching you have done during the course.

There are no exams but you will have to complete some tasks to pass the qualification. You will receive a BTEC Level 1 Award in Workskills on completion.
