About the course

This course provides the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in any of the areas that make up the worlds' communication and computer networks, from small local networks to world spanning cable and satellite networks. As well as all the necessary modules that make up the qualification, the programme also embeds the valuable CISCO CCNA modules.

The programme is studied full time over two years, there is also the option of achieving it over three years part time.

Entry Requirements

  • 56 UCAS Points
  • Access to Higher Education Diploma in an appropriate pathway
  • Related employment and qualifications welcomed
  • Oveseas students must have an English language level of IELTS 6.0 or another recognised equivalent.

Applicants would normally have:

  • 5 GCSEs grade A*-C to include English and Maths

What could I do next?

This course prepares students to progress onto the final stage of the BSc(Hons) Computer Systems and Networks at Plymouth University. On completing the Foundation Degree students have started successful careers with organisations and companies in the fields of computing, networking, mobile communications, internet provision, radio and tv broadcast and many others including working in education, local government and the National Health Service.
