About the course

Word Processing is a widely used tool in modern offices today and the course will enable you to learn substantial skills and provide efficient office support. This unit can contribute to a full level 2 qualification in IT.

Entry Requirements

  • Preferably have achieved a qualification in IT at level 1 prior to attempting the course or equivalent
  • You should have good command of written English

  • Using advanced editing tools
  • Storing and retrieving files
  • Working with folders to organise files
  • Inserting tables, pictures and other objects into documents
  • Using styles to produce consistent appearance within a document
  • Altering the page layout of documents
  • Formatting characters, paragraphs and columns
  • Checking word processed documents
  • Creating mailmerge documents

This course is for anyone wishing to learn more advanced techniques using word processing software to produce detailed documents such as reports.
