The Electrical Diploma Level 2 course develops your knowledge and skills. If you are looking for a career as an electrician in the construction industry, then this course will provide you with the industry-standard skills that potential employer’s desire.

Entry Requirements

Essential Requirements you must have:  

  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English and Science
    OR you must have completed the level 1 diploma in Electrical, including your functional skills or GCSE targets
  • Excellent record of attendance and commitment at school/college
  • Demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm and a commitment to succeed and prepare effectively for employment

Desirable Requirements

  • An attendance record at college in excess of 90%
  • A strong commitment to adopt a 'work ready' approach, taking responsibility for your own development and behaviour
  • Completed 30 hours or more of work experience within the construction industry
What will I do on this course?

This qualification is an introduction to working in an electrical craft and has both knowledge and practical elements. Your study will include:

  • Basic electrical installation using hand and powered tools
  • Science
  • Communication
  • Calculation of components
  • Safe working practices
  • You may also be required to study maths and English as part of your course.
Who is it for?

This course is suitable for 16-18 year olds who are progressing from the level 1 diploma in Electrical or, those who have obtained GCSE grades C or above in Maths, English and Science.
