You will develop your personal & practical skills & complete a series of assignments.
You will complete these Vocational Units
Drawing a plan of a room
Costing a small repair job
Making minor repairs in a house
Developing a Personal Progression Plan
You will develop your Employability Skills & complete a BTEC Personal & Social development qualification.
You will undertake Volunteering or Work experience.
You will take an English & Maths Functional Skills qualification at the right level for you.
If you achieve a grade 3 for GCSE English or Maths at school you will undertake a resit in these subjects.
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for 16-18 year olds who have a keen interest to learn the knowledge and skills to start a career in Plastering.
How Is this course assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year.
You will complete an English & Maths assessment/Exam.
What could I do next?
On successful completion of the course you may be able to progress to the Level 2 Diploma Plastering course. You could also apply for an apprenticeship in the Plastering industry or Employment.
The course is free to anyone between the age of 16-18.
You will need protective footwear and a high visibility vest for practical sessions.
Financial support is available through the Learner Support Fund. Applications can be made through the College's Learner Services team.
You will need to attend an informal interview, please bring a recent school report & record of attendance.
