About the course

This qualification is a basic craft introduction to the Plumbing industry. This course gives you the opportunity to study both the knowledge and practical aspects of Plumbing at Level 1

Entry Requirements

Essential Requirements - you must have:  

  • range of qualifications which should include at least 3 GCSEs at grade E or above, including English, Maths and Science (or equivalent)
    OR successful completion of an Entry 3 vocational qualification

Desirable Requirements

  • GCSEs in maths, science and English at grade D or above
  • An excellent record of attendance and commitment at school/college
  • A strong commitment to adopt a 'work ready' approach, taking responsibility for your own development and behaviour
What will I do on this course?

This qualification consists of 10 study units with both knowledge and practical elements to include;

  • general plumbing
  • drainage above and below ground
  • improving our environment
  • communication
  • calculation of components
  • the structure of the industry 
  • safe working practices

You may also be required to study maths and English as part of your course.

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for 16-18 year olds who have a keen interest to learn knowledge and skills to start a career in Plumbing.
