About the course

This vocationally orientated Foundation Degree in Interactive Multimedia includes digital media and graphic design. It will enable students to engage with new media and emerging creative digital technology. Interactive Multimedia is everywhere and touches our lives through a range of digital media platforms - the internet, interactive games and 3D environments, e-commerce, mobile phone services and experimental interactive art.

Who is it for?

You will develop image, animation or video design outcomes for screen i.e. computer monitor, mobile phone, streaming video/TV, gallery plasma installation or the internet. This is a modular programme that shares a common core with the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design with Interactive Multimedia. The common core addresses topics such as the design process, visual language, contextual studies, communication, developing ideas through drawing, basic web authoring, typography and layout.

What could I do next?

Successful students may progress to the final year of BA (Hons) Media Arts or BA (Hons) Digital Media and Animation (subject to approval) within the Faculty of Arts at University of Plymouth or can apply to complete an Honours Degree at another university.Please note there is a deadline for progression applications and places may be subject to availability.

  • Typical employment opportunities include website design, graphic design, advertising, packaging, 3D animation, CD-ROM/kiosk design, interactive games.
