This short evening course provides an extension to the basic principles of digital photography. Macs computer are used on this course, but the principle is the same on PCs. Entry Requirements

You will:

  • need to have a keen interest in photography
  • need to bring your own DSLR camera
  • You can bring your own laptop if you have one, but Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Elements software will be required.
What will I do on this course?

You will

  • learn about the comprehensive features in most DSLR cameras and their lenses
  • be shown how to get the best image and to edit, manipulate and finish the image to a high standard using Photoshop on Mac computers
  • be introduced to images from other well-known photographers
  • be encouraged and taught how to take specific images week on week using your camera's non-auto controls
  • Later in the course you will be shown how to calibrate your computer screen and printer
Who is it for?

It is suitable for those with some photographic experience who owns a DSLR camera and would like to learn more about their camera and its potential, digital technology, the digital darkroom, Adobe Photoshop special effects and professional finishes.

For mature students with related experience it is possible to progress to the Foundation Degree in Professional Photography in Partnership with Plymouth University
