Who is this course for?
This course provides education and training for mechanical engineers who are employed at a professional level in mechanical design and related disciplines, such as manufacturing, maintenance and other technical service areas.
The course will provide learners with opportunities to focus on the development of higher level skills in a technological and management context.
What you'll learn
This course will be suitable for those looking for careers in aerospace and mechatronics industries.
Modules studied include:
- mathematics for engineers
- materials engineering
- engineering science
- business management for engineers
- engineering design
- planning and scheduling principles
- mechanical principles.
Course entry requirements
We are looking for students with a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering.
Students usually need one or more of the following:
- An A Level Grade C or above in either Maths, Physics, Mechanical Engineering
- 5 GCSEs including English, Maths and Science Grade 4 (C) or above
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will learn from our experienced and supportive teachers and be assessed through group work.
Future career and study opportunities
You will gain a nationally recognised qualification which will allow you to work at engineer/technical level.
On successful completion of this HNC course, you could go on to study for the HND in Engineering, Foundation Degree.
Additional costs
You will need to provide your own personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of boots and uniform/clothing.
You will also need pens, books, drawing equipment and a scientific calculator.
