About the course

Are you interested in working in Adult Social Care? This part-time one year course is for those who wish to develop their knowledge and employability skills to prepare to work with adults in social care. You will study a range of topics related to adult social care and will spend one day a week in an adult care setting. Here you will work alongside care professionals who will help you put your learning into practice. You can then progress to an apprenticeship or work in adult social care.

Entry Requirements

  • Two satisfactory references
  • Voluntary/employment in relevant sector, this will be discussed when you meet us and we can help you find this
  • Personal interview
What will I do on this course?

You will study a variety of topics including:

  • Infection control
  • The role of the Social Worker
  • Principles of communication
  • Person centred approaches

You will also develop your English and Maths skills and have the opportunity to resit GCSE Maths ready for employment.

Who is it for?

This course is for adults (learners aged 19 +).

You will be dedicated and interested in developing your skills and knowledge in the social care sector.
