About the course

This course is designed to encourage an interest in, and enthusiasm for, a rigorous study of religion. It will enable you to develop insights into areas of knowledge, belief and thought central to an understanding of the modern world.

Entry Requirements

6 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths.

This course is suited for those who have studied religious education before - but this is not a requirement.

What will I do on this course?

This course encourages you to question and think about your own values, beliefs and opinions. You will have the chance to study aspects of one or more religions, including textual, theological, historical, ethical, phenomenological perspectives.You will also study:

  • Ethics
  • Philosophy of religion
  • Religion and society
  • Religion and art
Who is it for?

This course is part of a full time A Level programme of 4 different subjects and will appeal to Year 11 students who are interested in Philosophy of Religion which is a study of philosophical arguments about the existence of God and selected problems in the philosophy of religion this course is for you.

What could I do next?

Universities offer courses on theology and philosophy which some students go on to study. In addition students go on to study a degree courses in a wide range of related subjects
