About the course

If you are looking for a job in the motor vehicle industry, then this course could lead to it.  This course is more advanced than the level 1 course has been developed to meet the needs of the motor industry. You will learn a wide range of relevant practical skills in our fully equipped modern workshops and also includes mechanical theory and related subjects. 

Entry Requirements

  • 3 GCSEs at Grades A-D including Maths and English
  • Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance Qualification (optional)

The course consists of the modules listed below and all must be achieved to gain the qualification. You will also study Work Skills and Functional Skills in English and Maths.

  • Support for Job Roles in the Automotive Environment
  • Materials, Fabrication Tools and Measuring Devices in the Automotive Environment
  • Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
  • Light Vehicle Engines Systems
  • Light Vehicle Chassis Systems
  • Light Vehicle Transmission Systems
  • Light Vehicle Electrical Systems
  • Maths & English GCSE and/or Functional Skills or Contextual Maths and English
Who is it for?

This course is aimed at any 16-18 year old who has a passion for cars or for someone who has already completed Level 2 Subsidiary Diploma. You should have the desire to learn and develop the skills necessary to maintain and repair motor cars. You will need to be a committed and determined person who wants to succeed and has the ability to work as part of a team.

Additional cost
