  • If you wish to apply to Bristol Supported Internships you will get advice and help with applying for an Education, Health & Care Plan.

Before joining Bristol Supported Internship Programme you will need to come to an informal selection day, and have a discussion to make sure this is the right choice for you. You will also need to have an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). We can support you to apply for an assessment for an EHCP when you enquire about Bristol Supported Internship Programme.

What will I do on this course?

You will work 5 days a week during college terms, 9.00AM – 4.00PM each day. B-SiP works with a number of local businesses in Bristol to provide work placements or ‘rotations’. After the first couple of weeks you will spend just an hour in the classroom in the morning, and then go to your placement for the rest of the day. At the end of the day you will return to the classroom to review your day and record learning. You will do three different placements during the year, spending up to 10 weeks in each. A dedicated tutor and job coach will support you.

You will also complete work in the classroom to learn about health & safety and your rights and responsibilities at work, to practice job search skills and to learn what makes a good employee.

Who is it for?

Bristol Supported Internship Programme is for young people aged 16-24 who have had additional support at school/college because of a learning disability and/or autism, and have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) saying what outcomes they are working towards and what support they will need to achieve these goals.
