If you are interested in a career in the exciting world of aviation, this course could help you to achieve your goal.

You should enjoy interacting with people, be committed to excellent standards of customer service and be able to work as part of a team. You will need a flexible approach to your future working life, due to the shift work which is required in this industry.

What you'll learn

You will experience, first hand, the different operational areas of an airport including airport check-in, security and baggage processing; and aircraft marshalling, arrivals services, boarding and dispatch.

You will develop the knowledge, skills and qualities you need to work in these roles, for example aviation language and procedures, communication skills and customer service. You will be thoroughly prepared to take part in aviation assessment days, which are used by the industry to recruit staff.

You will make sure you have the Maths, IT and English skills which employers need. If you have not yet gained a grade 4 (C) in GCSE Maths or English, you will study these subjects alongside your course, either as Functional Skills qualifications or GCSE resits, if you already have a grade 3 (D).

Course entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including Maths and/or English or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject plus GCSEs in Maths and/or English, or a Functional Skills qualification in Maths and/or English.
