Course overview
Nowadays managers and supervisors have extensive health and safety commitments placed within their sphere of responsibility. This course ensures they have the knowledge to handle resources and manage risk within the organisation.
Who is it for?
For all supervisors and managers in every organisation across all industry sectors.
Content
- Understand why accidents and injuries occur
- Apply management principles to health and safety issues
- Manage behavioural issues affecting health and safety performances
- Be aware of the legal framework for health and safety at work
- Apply communication skills in relation to health and safety
- Recognise the nature of common hazards including chemicals, mechanical, noise, manual handling, electrical and fire
- Plan for hazards specific to their own workplace
- Develop a cost effective approach to health and safety management
Duration
Four days: Two days over two consecutive weeks.
