Health & Safety, First Aid and Security

City of Bristol College offers a ‘one-stop-shop’ service for legislative training courses. These allow businesses to comply with national legal requirements for business operation.

Health & Safety and First Aid

Our short courses help employers ensure their workplace is a safe environment and that members of staff are fully conversant with health and safety procedures and other legal requirements.

They are accredited by organisations including:

  • National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
  • Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
  • Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)

Security

The security industry has witnessed wide ranging developments in recent years. Today approximately half a million people are employed in security roles in the private security sector – an industry which contributes approximately £6 billion to the economy of the UK.

A large proportion of the workforce is regulated by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), which is responsible for licensing individuals working in security roles. SIA requires individuals to obtain formal qualifications before being considered for a licence to work.

Our SIA-accredited training is designed for:

  • CCTV operators
  • Door supervisors
  • Event security staff
  • Security guards
