Community partners
City of Bristol College has a strong commitment to encouraging and supporting adults in lifelong learning. We work closely with a number of community partners in achieving this aim.

Our community partners provide valuable opportunities for you to develop skills useful for work and life and to have a stepping-stone to further study at the College.
The College also works with a range of groups to improve opportunities for learning and community development in Bristol.
Brandon Trust
Courses available:
- Horticulture - You will work with tutors at Elm Tree Nursery in Stapleton or Eastville Park, learning all aspects of the work involved in running a horticultural nursery. Bedding plants and vegetables produced on the farm are sold at the weekly Farmers Market held in central Bristol. Course runs for two days a week over one year starting in September. You will be invited to attend an interview before enrolling
- Pottery and Ceramics - You will work with a tutor at Fired Up Ceramic learning the skills needed to produce a range of ceramic products for sale. Course runs fro one day a week, starting September. You will be invited to attend an interview before enrolling.

The Beacon Centre
Learning can promote equality, understanding and respect. The Beacon Centre, Russell Town Avenue, near to the pedestrian footpath for the City Academy, Bristol, and also at The Co-Op on Chelsea Road, Easton. Offering a wide range of learning opportunities for adults living locally and provide a morning crèche for some courses.

Silai for Skills
Silai For Skills is a multicultural women's training organisation based in Easton. We are committed to providing high quality learning opportunities for women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Courses
At Silai you'll find a wide range of learning opportunities to choose from. We offer courses at beginner to more advanced levels in the following subject areas:
- Art and Design (including textile design, fashion design and general art and design)
- Creative Textiles (including garment construction and alterations, Asian and African garment construction, pattern cutting, sewing, machine knitting, curtain making and soft furnishings)

We offer both short (6-12 weeks) and longer (up to 35 weeks) courses during the day and in the evening. Most of our courses carry a certificate.
Support and facilities
- We aim to provide our students with the support they need to develop new skills, gain qualifications and to progress to further learning or employment
- You will learn in a friendly, relaxed environment with experienced and supportive tutors
- A free Advice and Guidance service is available to both students and non-students
- City of Bristol College's Student Support team is available for one-to-one support with English, maths or any aspect of your course work
- An on site crèche is available to Silai students and our café serves excellent lunches.

SPAN Study Centre
The SPAN (Single Parent Action Network) Study Centre is a small friendly diverse multicultural learning centre based in Easton. It is a family based centre working with both single parents and families with children.
They offer a wide range of free, friendly, easy-going sessions at the Study Centre that enable parents to meet other parents and learn new skills, such as massage and art workshops, Career Planning, Yoga, Computers and Crafts.
They also offer a range of 1:1 support sessions, which include Parenting Support and Money Advice. They provide a free onsite crèche for the under 5s.
The SPAN study centre is next to Millpond School, Baptist Street, Easton, BS5 0YW.

Youth Education Service
The Youth Education Service runs literacy and numeracy groups for young people (aged 16 plus) and for adults. These groups run at our base, 14 Frederick Place, BS8 1AS and at other community venues.
Students can start at any time during the year. Our groups are small, friendly and supportive - an ideal first step (back) into education.
- Young people who may have missed out on some education can join a flexile and informal programme at a range of locations across Bristol
