How to get the skills to go further and higher in your education
If you'd like to get the skills and qualifications to take a Higher Education course our Access courses are ideal.
Why choose our Access Courses?

- We're recognised throughout the UK as a top Access course provider
- Superb tutorial support: All access students receive the support of a personal tutor
- Hours to suit you: You can choose to study over one or two years, and design your work to fit around your domestic, work or child-care commitments. We even have evening classes
- Our excellent links ensure that on completion of our Access to Higher Education course you'll have a place at university
- We have excellent facilities
- You will gain a nationally recognised qualification accredited through the Open College Network (OCN) at Level 2/3.
What is the Open College Network (OCN)?
The OCN provides the qualifications for the Access and Return to Study courses - Each OCN subject has three levels of qualification: level 1, level 2 and level 3. Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE and level 3 is equivalent to A Level.
Where will I study?
Access courses are taught at our Ashley Down Centre.
How do I find out more and enrol?
- Firstly, come to one of informal Information Sessions. For dates and times, call 0117 312 5000.
- To join the Access to Higher Education course, your skills will need to be up to GCSE level. You will be asked to sit screening tests in Maths and English to determine whether you need to take our Return to Study course before the Access course or whether you can go straight on to an Access course.
