Pre-arrival pack
We understand that coming to the UK, perhaps for the first time, can be a daunting experience. At the College we’re here to help you prepare for your arrival in the UK. This pre-arrival pack aims to provide you with the information and resources you need before you come to the study with us at City of Bristol College.

Resources for international students
Before you arrive in the UK you can access useful resources designed specifically for international students.
The International Student Calculator will help you plan and manage your money for your studies in the UK. With interactive guides to living costs, as well as useful info and student profiles, it is the perfect tool to prepare you for managing your money.
Prepare for Success is an interactive web learning tool for international students who are getting ready to come to the UK to study. It contains activity-based learning resources to help you find out about different aspects of academic life in the UK and the skills needed for effective study.

International orientation
Once you arrive in the UK we want to ensure that you feel part of the College, part of your course group and part of the city of Bristol.
To achieve this we have arranged a two day international orientation for all international students. This will take place when you first arrive in Bristol, before your course begins.
See an overview of the two-day orientation programme.
International Buddying Scheme
When you arrive we want to make sure you are settled, supported and happy at College and in Bristol. To help with this transition we are providing an international buddying service for all international students. This service will help you find your way around the city, integrate with students from the UK, and ensure that you make plenty of new friends!
You will be paired with your buddy from the first week and can meet with him/her on a regular basis, taking part in fun activities and getting to know your surroundings. More information will be provided during your orientation.
