Excellence in HE
The national inspectorate, QAA (Quality Assurance Agency), responsible for assessing the quality and standards of Higher Education in England and Wales, continues to rate the College highly.
The QAA reviews the university level courses that are delivered in Further Education Colleges as part of its Integrated Quality and Enhancement Review (IQER) process. City of Bristol College had its Developmental Engagement in assessment, the initial stage of the IQER process, in June 2009. The College is pleased to note that there are many areas of good practice.

Creative Arts and Media
When the QAA reviewed this faculty it drew attention to some exemplary practice in teaching and learning. The QAA subject review stated:
'Courses have pass rates significantly above the national average.'
Business & Professional Studies
Business was another area to receive outstanding feedback. The QAA Subject Review team commented:
'Current students spoke warmly of the availability of core staff in providing support and guidance... The teaching and social accommodation at College Green Centre provides an excellent learning environment.'
Construction
'Students are overwhelmingly positive in their views of the vocational relevance of courses confirming that achievement of the qualification both enhances career prospects and improves performance within their current roles.'

Engineering, Aeronautical & Transport
The QAA Subject Review of the Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering programmes reported favourably on the provision:
'The Reviewers have confidence in the academic standards.'
'The Quality of teaching and learning and student progression is commendable.'
'Students are assisted well in adapting to the demands of higher education.'
