HNCs (Higher National Certificates)

What are HNCs?

  • These nationally recognised qualifications are more vocationally-focused than Foundation Degrees
  • HNCs combine practical and academic experience - and consist of 10 modules (160 credits)
  • HNCs are particularly popular with certain industries
  • HNCs are ideal for students who want to continue working, and are normally studied part-time allowing you to combine work and study
  • You can usually 'add to' an HNC to gain a Foundation Degree

I spend one day a week in College studying various aspects of design, organisation and management of electrical services and buildings.

"The teaching on the course has been fantastic and really supportive, and I have found it to be of particular benefit to work with specialist software and CAD packages as this has greatly enhanced the skills I can call upon in the work place. After finishing the course there will be a number of opportunities open to me, including completing a full honours degree at university, and much improved career prospects!"
