Applying for College
How can I find out more information about courses?
You can attend one of our open events throughout the year. This gives you the chance to meet our staff and ask questions about subject areas and College life. Our staff will provide you with clear and impartial advice.
How do I apply for College?
Once you’ve chosen your course, click the 'choose' button. Depending on the course you’ve selected, you will either be able to enrol or apply online. Find out more about applying to College.
When can I enrol on a course?
It depends on which course you're interested in. For many courses you can enrol all year around. For more detailed information, contact Learner Services.
I've applied to College - what happens next?
If you’ve applied for a full-time course, you should receive an acknowledgement within two weeks. You'll be invited to come along to an interview or assessment.
If you have not received an acknowledgement within two weeks, please contact our Customer Services and Operations Team on 0117 312 5000
When will I hear about my interview?
As soon as an interview date becomes available, we will send you an ‘invitation to interview’ letter by post.
I forgot to go to my interview, what should I do?
Please call our Customer Services and Operations Team on 0117 312 5000 as soon as possible
How do I get to the College?
We have a number of centres across the City. For directions, please visit our find us page.
Will I be tested during my interview?
You may be asked to complete a short English and maths test on the day. Don’t worry; this is for us so we can make sure you’re enrolling onto the right course.
Can I get help with a bus pass and course equipment?
There are funds available to students. For more information, visit our financial support page.
What do I need to bring to my interview?
You will need to bring your most recent SIMS attendance and school report. Some courses will ask you to bring other specific items; these will be mentioned in your ‘invitation to interview’ letter. If you’re not sure, contact the Admissions team by calling 0117 312 5275 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ve received my course offer, what do I do next?
All you have to do is accept your course. To do this, contact the Admissions team by calling 0117 312 5275 or emailing email@example.com.
I’ve accepted my offer, what happens next?
You will receive regular communications over the summer period, which will include information on when to enrol and when your course starts. You can call us any time if you’re unsure of anything.
I’ve changed my mind on the course I’ve accepted. I want to do something else
Not a problem. We can help you find an alternative course that’s more suited to what you want to do. Just let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 0117 312 5275.
When does my course start?
You will receive your course start date from May onwards. If you have not received your course start date, contact the Admissions team by calling 0117 312 5275 or emailing email@example.com.
Where do I go on my first day?
You should have received a letter from your department with everything you need to know about where to go on your first day. If you haven’t, just head to the main reception at your College centre.

What financial support can I receive whilst I'm at College?
Depending on your circumstances you may be eligible for financial support for travel, materials and other course-related costs. Find out more about funding.
What help can I get with childcare costs while I'm at College?
You may be eligible for Learner Support Funds or Care to Learn to help with childcare fees.
I want some careers advice
Contact Learner Services on 0117 312 5000 or come to your local College centre where staff can offer advice or book you in for a careers advice session.
Where can I find help with my English or Maths?
Our Study Plus service can help you with the extra support you may need.
