City of Bristol College Aero Engineers were paid a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.

Mr Clegg spoke to several students about their Apprenticeships, even trying to use some of the equipment for himself. Whilst praising the College for introducing a new scheme to encourage smaller firms to take on apprentices, the Deputy Prime Minster also noted that it was not just the big firms, such as GKN and Airbus that are vital in providing Apprenticeships; smaller firms are as important in offering young people employment.

Apprentice Luke Healey, 17 from Kingswood, commented: "There was a lot of competition to get on the course. I realise how these kind of Apprenticeships are sought after and it just makes me more determined to try harder and succeed."
