City of Bristol College have launched a new Students' Union which will start elections to establish a student leadership from September.  The union will create an environment for students to socialise, work in and build a self-sustaining student experience.

The College have appointed a Students' Union and Student Experience Co-Ordinator, Naomi McKay, who will be working with students to help create a community within the College.

Naomi tells us more: “I am passionate about sharing leadership with students and enabling them to vocalise their issues to improve their College experience. I will also be assisting in establishing clubs and societies and directing the students in what they want to see from the Union.”

The Union will also offer support in accessing services and opportunities at College and externally.

“The Students' Union will also have an academic impact” continues Naomi: “To be a part of the leadership team and an active part of the Union will look great on students’ CV’s and their Portfolios.

“We want to give our students an active voice and role in their own learning. It’s important to establish a secure and safe environment where students can express themselves and create their own destiny with support from the College.”
