Due to this development, there will be a four week closure of the line between Bristol Parkway and Swindon and nine weekends of work in the Cardiff and Bristol Parkway areas after the closure. From now until 1st September, GWR high speed services will call at Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway except at peak times when they will continue to call at Bristol Parkway. To combat these disruptions, a replacement bus service will run between Bristol Parkway and Patchway.
The railway work from 2nd September until the 17th will affect many Bristol stations. GWR high speed services will continue to call at Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway, and a replacement bus service will continue to run between Bristol Parkway and Patchway. Alongside this, local GWR services between Yate and Filton Abbey Wood will be replaced by bus services. CrossCountry services will alternatively run on a diverted route during this time, calling at Patchway and Filton Abbey Wood instead of Bristol Parkway.
Trains will continue to run, however, between Yate and Gloucester, and Filton Abbey Wood and Bristol Temple Meads.
