More than 450 jobs on offer at South Bristol Jobs Fair

The latest in a series of jobs fairs run in partnership by the City Council, Jobcentre Plus and City of Bristol College will be held at South Bristol Skills Academy on Wednesday 26 October.

Over 20 employers with at least 200 jobs to fill will be present – including Bristol City Council, RBS, Parkwood Leisure and Network Healthcare – to meet with job hunters and talk to them about the jobs on offer. Anyone looking for an Apprenticeship will find a range of options open to them on the day.

In addition there will be further 250 local full and part-time jobs posted on a Jobs Wall. This gives people the chance to look at a number of vacancies and to compare them side-by-side. Staff from both the Council’s Employment and Skills Team and Jobcentre Plus will be at the Jobs Wall to offer help and advice to anyone who needs it.

500 job hunters attended the last jobs fair held at the Skills Academy in February earlier this year. As well as City of Bristol College, several organisations will be present offering advice, information and support, including Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures, Outset Bristol and Easton Learning Centre.

Council Leader Barbara Janke said: “These jobs fairs are an excellent way for job hunters to meet and speak with a range of potential employers in the city all under one roof. The City Council is very committed to working with Jobcentre Plus to promote employment opportunities and help job seekers find the right advice to help with their search or training opportunities.”

The event will run from 10am-2pm at South Bristol Skills Academy.
