The Board at City of Bristol College has appointed Andy Forbes as its new Principal and Chief Executive.
The appointment of Mr Forbes is the result of a comprehensive selection and recruitment process supported by participation from a wide group of internal and external stakeholders.
Peter Rilett, Chair of the Corporation commented: “I am delighted that we have secured an outstanding leader to take up this post and steer the College on the next stage of its journey. Andy brings with him a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, quality improvement and partnership development. Andy will lead the team in driving the College’s progress in improving the outcomes for students and building relationships with employers and stakeholders for the benefit of the city and its communities.”
Mr Forbes said:“I’m really pleased to be joining a College which is brimming with confidence and ambition, serving a city which has such a clear vision for its future as a world-class place to live and work. Having worked for most of my life in Manchester and London, I am looking forward to once again being in a diverse, urban environment where a further education college has so much to offer to all communities.”
Mr Rilett added: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Richard Harris, Acting Principal and Chief Executive and Emma Jarman, Vice Principal - Curriculum and Quality for managing the College over the last five months and to all the staff for their continued focus on our students during this period.”
Mr Forbes, previously with Capital City Colleges Group, takes up his new role on 11 November. The appointment of Mr Forbes has been made following the departure of the former Principal and Chief Executive, Lee Probert who led the college between January 2016 and May 2019.
