Tips for a successful interview
Before the interview:
- Make sure that you know where your interview is and how to get to the College. Your interview may be at a different College centre to where you’ll be studying. Maps and directions to all College centres can be found in the find us section
- Make sure you give yourself lots of time to get to the interview, you don’t want to be rushed or stressed before you go in
- Save the College phone number into your mobile, then if you're running late you can call to let us know
- Do some research on the College and the course(s) you have chosen. This will help you answer some of the questions you may be asked
- Have a look at the sample interview questions and prepare your answers
- Remember this is your opportunity to find out if the course/College is suitable for you so prepare any questions you would like to ask the interviewer
- Make sure you bring with you anything that has been specified on your interview letter

At the interview:
- First impressions count. When you meet the interviewer make sure you greet them politely (say good morning/afternoon), and shake their hand
- Speak clearly and answer questions in as much depth as you can. Try and avoid yes/no answers. If you don’t understand a question, don’t be afraid to ask
- Ask questions. This will impress any interviewer and show your commitment to joining the course
- Think about your body language. Sit up straight, maintain eye contact, smile and try not to fidget
Good luck!
