Meet the Tutors
What tutor support do we provide?
Student support is offered throughout the College. Tutors provide an adult environment for you to learn and achieve your goals.
Shirley Davies, Programme Co-ordinator, Sixth Form Academy

Q: What do you do in your role as tutor?
A: I take a group of students and I help them move forward with their studies and their lives. Not all have been that successful at school, for whatever reason, so some need a little extra help.
Q: What's the most enjoyable part of being a tutor?
A: Dealing with the students is great - they're such a diverse bunch. And it's lovely to see them grow into successful adults with great careers.
Q: What's the most challenging part?
A: Some have real problems, in and out of College. So I need to support them in all they do, which can be tough. But I enjoy the challenge.
Q: What do you do when you're not at College?
A: I love walking. I love getting out of the city and into the countryside - a relaxing walk with some friends is great.
Lester Freckleton, Curriculum Manager, Foundation Education

Q: What's the most enjoyable part of being a tutor?
A: I really enjoy helping people to achieve and being part of their personal development through positive influence.
Q: What's the most challenging part?
A: Sometimes it can seem too little, too late - but I'm always positive and always here for them.
Q: What do you do when you're not at College?
A: I play guitar. It's purely for enjoyment - I just love being able to make music.
