Schools & Employers

We work closely with a broad mix of local schools and companies across the country. Many schools without Sixth Forms and many companies with skill gaps turn to City of Bristol College.

The Bristol Campus and Kingswood Consortium

As a key player in the Bristol Campus and Kingswood Consortium we offer
excellent progression routes from entry level through to university level courses.

Meet our Schools' Liaison Co-ordinators

"Our job involves helping to bridge the gap between school and college. We have over 70 feeder schools enrolling on over 170 full-time courses, so as you can imagine things can get hectic. Still, we've got trusted group of College Student Ambassadors to help. Their input is invaluable and gives those still at school a really clear insight about what college life is really like."

A typical week

"Our typical week shows just how much work we're doing to keep schools in touch with all we have to offer."

Monday

We trained a group of new student ambassadors to help out with schools' liaison work. It's always exciting to work with College students and is interesting to find out about their college experience and why they chose City of Bristol College.

Tuesday

Photograph: Staff and Parent in discussion. We took a group of ambassadors to a school to talk to a Year 11 group. They had loads of questions about our courses and had various concerns about starting in a new place. We managed to put their minds at rest. Then, in the evening, it was off to a school career's event speaking with prospective parents and pupils. It was non-stop!

Wednesday

Spent the day meeting College staff to discuss taster sessions. A school had asked that their Year 10s come to college for the day to try out different courses. A big event, but a great chance for the children to experience a course that interests them.

Thursday

A school brought a small group of Year 9s to have a look around one of our Centres. We talked about the opportunities at College, and a quiz that takes you around the Centre. To round things off, we had that all-important hot chocolate.

Friday

We went to a school assembly to talk to young people so they know about their post-16 options and about life at City of Bristol College.
