As a valued volunteer member of our Corporation Board, you’ll contribute to strategic decision-making, hold the College to account, and help ensure we continue delivering exceptional learning experiences that meet the needs of our students, community, and local employers. The Roles
The Corporation Board is seeking to appoint two external governors and one co-opted member to join either the Audit Committee, Finance and Resources Committee or Remuneration Committee.

The Board is particularly interested in hearing from applicants with skills and experience in any of the following areas:
- Internal audit
- Risk management
- Understanding of governance/charity law
- It/digital (especially related to AI)
- Property and estate management
- Understanding of modern construction and planning
- Procurement/purchasing
- Inspection and oversight in the school or college sector
- Understanding of current national education policy and the local education context

Safeguarding
City of Bristol College is fully committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. All new governors are required to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Once appointed, all governors are required to read the relevant sections of Keeping Children Safe in Education and undertake safeguarding training. You will also undertake the Governor Induction Programme, covering safeguarding, and will be expected to be an advocate for creating a culture of vigilance.

Applications will be reviewed by the Search and Governance Committee members. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview, which will take place from 23 June 2025 onwards, and can be held either face to face or online.
