Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Level 3 UKCAA/EASA PT66 City of Bristol College

This two-year, full-time course will teach you about aircraft maintenance.

You will be required to complete 864 hours of training to achieve the qualification including in excess of 90% attendance.

This equates to 12 hours a week (2 days) for around 36 weeks.

Who is this course for?

If you are looking for a career in the Civil Aviation Industry and interested in aircraft vehicle maintenance then this might be the course for you.

What you'll learn

During the course, you will learn the fundamentals of aviation mathematics and science in addition to aircraft aerodynamics, structures and systems for turbine engines.

Course entry requirements

To join this course you need four passes at GCSE level including Maths/Sciences/English at grade 4 or above. Other qualifications may be considered on an individual basis.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

To achieve the EASA Category A licence module examination certificate, you must pass with 75% and above.

Future career and study opportunities

On completion, successful students could be employed as an aircraft maintenance engineer mechanic and after gaining 1 year of industry experience; If you have the sufficient experience; you can apply to become fully licenced category A licenced. For progression, students can also apply and train for the Category B1 aircraft engineer.

Additional costs

There is a requirement to provide your own personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of boots and uniform/clothing. Pens, books, drawing equipment and a scientific calculator, will be required to complete this course satisfactorily.
