Brickwork Level 2 Apprenticeship City of Bristol CollegeThis day-release apprenticeship lasts for a minimum of 30 months. In that time, you will become a bricklayer.
You will learn skills on site, like building brickwork and blockwork, to help construct buildings and other structures.
The Brickwork apprenticeship will give you more than qualifications. When you finish the course, you will have the skills and knowledge you need to work as a bricklayer in the construction industry.

Who is this course for?
If you have a keen interest in bricklaying and would like to learn a highly skilled trade, then this apprenticeship may be the right course for you. You should be employed or have a current offer of employment in the bricklaying sector.
What you'll learn
This course will teach you the knowledge and practical skills to become a trained bricklayer. The apprenticeship is made up of routine reviews of learning including:
- evidence of knowledge
- skills and behaviours
- coaching and training to prepare you for EPA
- recording of 20% off the job.
You may be required to study functional skills in English and Maths.
Course entry requirements
To join this course, you must have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English Language and Maths, or to have completed an alternative full Level 2 course with Level 1 Functional Skills. You must be employed or to have an offer of employment with an appropriate employer.
You must also have a strong commitment to working with your employer and College assessor and an excellent record of attendance at school or college.
You must also demonstrate a high degree of enthusiasm and a guarantee to succeed and prepare effectively for employment.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Through the course, you will create a site diary. You will be assessed via evidence including workplace observations, professional discussions, academic and professional workplace reviews. There will also be practical assessments.
When undertaking an apprenticeship, you will study a mixture of both work-based learning and training at College. You will also undertake an endpoint assessment (EPA) to complete your competency in bricklaying.
Your employer will pay the minimum apprenticeship wage while you are learning your trade.
Future career and study opportunities
You will be able to work in the industry as a qualified bricklayer. You could also progress onto a site management course.

As a City of Bristol College apprentice, you may incur additional costs on your apprenticeship. For example, it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationery, and for some apprenticeships you may need to purchase specialist equipment.
