Who is it for?

This course is designed for future managers and leaders.

It is suitable for people interested in working in the public or private sector, for a charity or even setting up your own business.

What you'll learn

You’ll explore the nature of business, how to meet the needs of customers, stakeholders and employees, and how external factors affect business performance. When you complete the course, you will be career-ready with real-world business skills.

Modules in Year 1 may include:

  • finance and accounting
  • people and organisations.

Modules in Year 2 may include:

  • economics
  • project management
  • human resource management.

Entry requirements

Students usually need one or more of the following:

  • Access to Higher Education Diploma in an appropriate pathway.
  • 56 UCAS Points.
  • Related employment and qualifications.
  • Five GCSEs Grade 9-4 (A*-C) including English and maths.

Overseas students must have an English language level of IELTS 6.0 or another recognised equivalent.

You will need an interview for this course.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

The course is studied on a modular basis. Sessions take place at our Ashley Down Centre.

You’ll be taught by lecturers, seminars, workshops, guest speakers, industry case studies, visits and placements. The course is supported by Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment.
