Business HNC/HND City of Bristol CollegeThe Level 4 HNC and Level 5 HND is a nationally and internationally recognised qualification. The course gives you a strong foundation in Business, and once completed can allow progression to a degree programme in a business-related subject. You will develop your knowledge and academic ability as well as career-specific skills.

Course entry requirements
GCSE English language and maths at grade 9-4 (grade A*- C), plus 96 UCAS points (MMM) in Business or related subjects at A Level or BTEC.
A lower entry point may be considered with good references or relevant background experience in Business, or an Access to Higher Education course in Business. You will also need a tutor reference and to attend an interview.
Students with overseas qualifications are also welcome and must demonstrate capability in English at a standard equivalent to IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5 or equivalent.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
The course is assessed through course assignment work as well as some examinations. Assignments can take the form of business style reports, business briefings, individual or group presentations or research assignments.
Future career and study opportunities
Students who pass the HNC may progress to BTEC Level 5 HND in Business, after which they can progress to a degree programme at university. Many professional bodies also recognise the HNC for further professional study. The skills offered as part of the Higher National can the opportunity to work in many different areas of the Business sector.
