Information Technology Level 1 City of Bristol CollegeThis full-time, one-year course will introduce you to the IT sector. It will help you develop skills to progress onto a subject-specific Level 1 course, a Level 2 course, an apprenticeship or employment.
You will complete a Level 1 BTEC Introductory Vocational Studies qualification and develop your employability skills.
You will take English and Maths Functional skills qualifications or resit GCSE Maths or English if you gain a Grade 3 at school.

Who is this course for?
This course is for young people aged 16-18 and for school leavers who have an interest in IT. This Information Technology course is an ideal stepping stone towards achieving your ambition.
What you'll learn
During this course you will develop your personal and employability skills an complete practical assignments. You will become more organised and develop a personal progression plan, solving technical IT problems and creating a website.
Course entry requirements
To join this Information Technology course, you will need two GCSEs at grade 2 (E) including Maths or English or alternatively you have gained an Entry 3 in Maths and English Functional Skills. We can also consider successful completion of any Entry 3 or another Level 1 vocational qualification.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
During this Information Technology course, you will be assessed in a variety of ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year. You will complete an English and Maths assessment/exams.
Future career and study opportunities
After completing this course, you can progress onto a Level 2 course, an apprenticeship or employment.
Additional costs
The course is free for anyone aged 16-18 to attend. There is no formal kit list for consumables, if you are on a limited income, you may be eligible to receive help with these costs from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
