The two-year, part-time course will give you understanding and knowledge of technical occupations found in the construction sector. The course will give you the opportunity to progress in your specialist area. It is appropriate for a range of jobs at technician level, from site and project management to quantity surveying and building control.
Who is this course for?
The course is designed specifically for those individuals currently working , or wishing to work, in the construction industry in a professional capacity.
What you'll learn
You will study a range of modules to gain an insight into the world of construction including construction materials, the technologies of construction, health and safety, construction and the environment, measurement and quantity surveying.
Course entry requirements
We welcome applications from people who have:
Achievement of the Access to HE Diploma including at least 30 Level 3 credits in Maths and Science
GCSE grades 9 to 4 to include English, Science and Maths at grade 6 or above
IELTS for overseas students 6.0 or equivalent
24-48 UCAS points
BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction and Built Environment
Related, relevant work experience at the required level for an acceptable period of time will be considered.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Modules studied are assessed by a combination of methods including: group work, coursework, practical and presentations.

This course should improve your career prospects and is also the first stage of working towards professional qualifications and the relevant chartered status. The course aims to give you the flexibility, knowledge, and motivation to progress on to a relevant degree course/specialism.
You will need materials for learning, protective footwear, gloves and a high vis vest for practical session at College. If you are on a limited income, you may be eligible to receive help with these costs from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
