Course overviewCreative Fashion Level 1 City of Bristol College
This part-time, evening course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of fashion design. You will study fashion illustration, sewing techniques, basic fabric manipulation, pattern cutting and garment construction.
Who is it for?
This course is for adults aged 19 and over. It is suitable for beginners with little or no previous experience who wish to enhance their knowledge and skill in fashion design.
What you'll learn
This eight-week course will consist of independent research into themes relating to fashion, including history and contemporary practices. You will also generate creativity through drawing and fashion illustration workshops and gaining hands-on practice sewing.
There are no formal entry requirements but you will need bags of enthusiasm and commitment.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
This course will be assessed by a portfolio of work.
Future career and study opportunities
After completing this course, you can progress onto the Subsidiary Diploma in Fashion and Clothing.
There are no additional costs for students. It is advisable for you to bring a sketchbook, drawing material and a basic sewing kit.
