Creative Media Production Level 1 City of Bristol CollegeThis Creative Media Production Level 1 course will introduce you to the creative media sector. It will help you develop skills to progress onto a subject-specific Level 1 course, a Level 2 course, an apprenticeship or employment.
You will complete a Level 1 BTEC Introductory Vocational Studies qualification and develop your employability skills.
You will take English and Maths Functional skills qualifications or resit GCSE Maths or English if you gain a Grade 3 at school.

Who is this course for?
This Creative Media Production Level 1 course is for young people aged 16-18 who are interested in the Creative Digital Media Sector. The course is an ideal stepping stone towards achieving your ambition.
What you'll learn
On this Creative Media Production Level 1 course you will develop your personal and employability skills, complete assignments and create a portfolio.
You will be tasked with creating a storyboard, how to animate and how to shoot a short film.
You will develop your employability skills and complete a BTEC Personal and Social Development qualification and you will very asked to carry out some volunteering or work experience.
Course entry requirements
3 x GCSEs at grades 1 to 3 including Maths and English, or previous vocational qualification.However, if you don’t have any formal qualifications, don’t worry, simply let us know and we can assess you to ensure that you will be able to achieve well on the course.
We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to tour our excellent facilities and ask any questions you may have.
You will be asked to provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year including written theory tests, practical-work and self-assessments.
You will complete an English and Maths assessments if required.
Future career and study opportunities
After successfully completing this course, you can carry on to study the Level 2 Creative Digital Media course or you can opt to complete an apprenticeship or enter full-time employment.
Additional costs
There is no formal kit list for consumables, but if you are on a limited income, you may be eligible to receive help with these costs from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
