Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship City of Bristol College

This Level 3 qualification supports apprentices employed in digital technician roles.

As an apprentice, you will learn to maximise the use of:

  • digital office technologies
  • productivity software
  • digital communications.

You will learn how to achieve objectives using collaborative technologies and digital information systems.

It will take you a minimum of 18 months to complete the apprenticeship.

Who is it for?

This course is for apprentices aged 16+. You may be employed as a Digital Application Technician or Digital Service Technician.

The Level 3 IT Apprenticeship Digital Support Technician is ideal for those interested in gaining knowledge, skills and confidence in the areas of ICT Digital Applications or ICT Digital Services. It is for school leavers and apprentices, or those who have relevant experience and desire to work in IT Digital Support roles.

What you'll learn

There are two pathways through this course. You will follow the pathway best related to your job.

Those who focus on digital applications work with internal customers to meet organisational technological needs. Those who focus on digital services work with organisation’s external customers to use digital platforms effectively.

Entry requirements

You should be in full-time employment and have one of the following:

  • an Apprenticeship at Level 2
  • full Level 2 qualification (e.g. Level 2 IT Diploma)
  • four GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above

Mature students or those with appropriate experience will be given individual consideration.

You will need to demonstrate relevant work experience or technical skills such as with hardware, networking, coding or digital applications.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

The level 3 Digital Support Technician Apprenticeship has an 18 months minimum duration. Throughout, you will complete required technical knowledge and skill components through class activities, lectures and workplace activities.

Apprentices will carry out project work leading to a portfolio.

After successfully completing all on-programme requirements, you will complete the end point assessment.

Organisations of all types are increasing applying digital technologies across all their business functions to maximise productivity with external customers and clients or their own internal users.

This advanced apprenticeship is a step forward in your Digital Support Technician career.

If you are aged 19-24 and without a full Level 3 qualification, this course is likely to be free. Please contact us for further information.

If you are aged 19+ with one or more Level 3 qualifications, you are eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.
