This two-unit, three-day course will enable successful candidates to act as a first aider in their workplace.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in first aid. It is also for people who have the responsibility as a first aider in their workplace or an appointed person.
What you'll learn
You can opt to complete one or more of four different qualifications. The two-unit First Aid At Work course runs for three days which will enable successful candidates to act as a first aider in their workplace.
During this course you will learn about the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and about how to correctly assess an incident. You will be trained in dealing with unconscious casualties, resuscitation, choking, external bleeding, minor injuries, chest injuries and burns as well as suspected head, neck and spinal injuries.
Course entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course. However, you should be able to cope with stressful and physically demanding emergency procedures.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will be required to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles of first aid at work in order to achieve this certificate which will be valid for three years. Our First Aid courses are classroom based with tutor-led teaching, activities, multiple choice test papers and practical assessments.
Future career and study opportunities
After successfully completing this course, you can move onto another first aid and health and safety course.
Alongside the course fee, you will need to pay for the Highfield book.
Many First Aid students are supported with fees covered by their employer.
